What is Health Japan 21 (the second term)?

Health Japan 21 (the second term) is a ten-year plan begun in 2013; the policies, ideas, and specific goals that form the basis of the plan are included in the "Basic Direction for Comprehensive Implementation of National Health Promotion" (hereafter referred to as the "Basic Directions"), established by the Minister of Health, Labour, and Welfare in accordance with Article 7 of the Health Promotion Act. On July 10, 2012, the entire fundamental policy was revised and an announcement was made by the minister.
