ABOUT US

In recent years, severe viral infections such as the new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) by SARS-CoV2, H5N1 avian influenza viruses, Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), and Ebola hemorrhagic fever occurs. When these infections become severe, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and multiple organ failures are caused, and intensive care such as artificial respiration in intensive care units (ICU) is required. There is currently no effective treatment for life-saving.
In our laboratory, we are trying to clarify the pathology of the severe viral infection from the aspect of virus-host interactions in the host nucleus, and are aiming for research which becomes the basis of the development of a new treatment method.
