2. Background and objectives

We conduct epidemiological and policy evaluation research on the management and control of noncommunicable disease risk factors from a societal perspective, with a focus on dietary factors. Our goal is to informing public health nutrition strategies and policies aimed at reducing these risks at the population level.

3. Overview of our research

I. Health economic research on nutrition policies for sustainable and healthy diets

We study the health and economic impacts of nutrition policies designed to promote sustainable and healthy diets. Our aim is to produce evidence that supports the development of environments where stakeholders, including the public, businesses, and governments, can make informed decisions based on scientific data.

II. Global collaborative studies on noncommunicable disease risk factors

We participate in global research collaborations, utilizing Japanese official statistics such as the National Health and Nutrition Survey. Our work focuses on generating and disseminating evidence on the management and control of modifiable risk factors for noncommunicable diseases, facilitating comparative analyses across different populations and over time.
