TO : automated-coding system by use of PC, and data transfer function via computer network between local public health centers to the National Institute of Health and Nutrition
- Backgrounds:
- The conventional manual coding procedures take too long time, too much man-power, and may cause too many errors !!
- More rapid publication of the results and feedback to the individual subjects have become essential to maintain cooperation of the survey participants and staff at local levels.
- The manually coded dietary survey sheets for approx. 5000 household will be sent from local public centers to the National Institute of Health and Nutrition (NIHN) every year, which are thought to contain more than 20,000 errors.
A part of compiled dietary survey sheets for error checking in the NIHN.
